The Ideal Vacuum AnalyzaVAC RGA is a compact mass spectrometer that can assist in determining the identity and concentration of residual gases inside a vacuum chamber. It can be used for leak detection, outgassing analysis, feed gas quality control in coating and etching applications, process troubleshooting, and more. The AnalyzaVAC RGA probe has a built in Pirani gauge and Bayard Alpert hot cathode gauge that protect it from operating at unsuitably high pressures, reducing system complexity and preventing costly maintenance. Each system comes complete with a quadrupole probe, control and communications unit (CCU), AutoZ+ Basic software for Microsoft Windows® 10, and all necessary cables for power and communication. The AnalyzaVAC operates by ionizing the gases present at the probe tip using electrons emitted thermionically by dual field-replaceable thoriated iridium filaments. The resulting cations are separated by mass-to-charge ratio using a combination of varying radio frequencies and DC voltages applied to the quadrupole filter. The positively charged ions travel down the center of the quadrupole and are either amplified by an electron multiplier or detected directly by the faraday cup detector at the end of the probe. Each gas produces a unique spectral fingerprint which is a combination of the natural isotopic abundance of its elements and molecular fragmentation caused by the RGA’s high-energy electron ionization. The RGA is designed for continuous operation at total pressures below 1×10-6 Torr, and optimally around 2×10-7 Torr. The optimal total operational pressure of the RGA is 2×10-7 Torr for most gases. Operation at higher pressures for extended lengths of time will results in premature aging of the probe, loss of gain, spectral drift, and fillament and ionizer burnout. The RGA can be used at the following pressure regions for the corresponding lengths of time: 10-4 Torr, several hours 10-5 Torr, several days 10-6 Torr, several months 10-7 Torr, several years 10-8 Torr, indefinitely Organic vapors should be kept at a 2x lower pressure than atmospheric gases to prevent soot contamination of the fillament and ionizer. Silicone vapors should be kept at pressures at least 10x lower than atmospheric gases to prevent glass buildup on the fillament and ionizer. NEW Agilent Variable Leak Valve CF 2.75 in. X Mini-CF 1.33 in. Includes a Movable Piston with an Optically Flat Sapphire. PN: 951-5106 The Agilent Variable Leak Valve can be added to any vacuum system to establish an adjustable leak. It offers unprecedented control sensitivity and stability with leak rates as small as 1 x 10-10 Torr-liters per second and provides an increasing rate of change as the size of the leak increases. This gives precise control in proportion to the size of the leak. The entire valve, including the drive mechanism, is bakeable to 450°C in either the open or closed position. This valve can operate in a vacuum range of atmosphere to below 10-11 Torr (mbar) and has an Inlet Gas Pressure up to a maximum of 500 psi. The valve is shipped in a closed, leak-tight position, lubricated and ready for installation. The main flange connection on which the variable leak valve is mounted mates with any 2 3/4 inch O.D. ConFlat flange. The Inlet gas connection is made through a standard 1 1/3in Mini-ConFlat flange. Leak rate adjustment is controlled with knurled knobs. To open a leak, the knurled knobs must be turned (together) counterclockwise, a minimum of two full turns. The valve is closed by turning the knobs (together) clockwise to the stop position against the handle. The variable leak valve includes a movable piston with an optically-flat sapphire that meets a captured metal gasket. This forms a seal completely free from friction, seizing, and shear. The sapphire’s movement is controlled through a threaded shaft-and-lever mechanism having a mechanical advantage of 13,000 to 1. Spring washers keep this drive mechanism constantly loaded and eliminate the backlash usually associated with this type of device. This provides immediate response to small movements in the finger-controlled adjusting knobs. While some permanent compression takes place in the gasket each time a seal is made, the change is very slight. Return of the knob to a previous position will result in approximately the same leak rate. Both components of the seal mechanism (sapphire assembly and gasket assembly) are easily replaceable. The gasket life for unbaked systems is approximately 300 closures and only 20 to 30 closures for baked systems. The Agilent Variable Leak Valve is perfect for applications that require an exact pressure selection to run a turbo in a specific range and maintain that pressure. The valve is designed to change the pressure selection to a specific applications’ needs and then be moved to another selection easily and accurately. This is a manually operated 90° right angle Ideal Vacuum Super-Seal bellows valve with Conflat CF 1.33" (1-1/3") flanges on the inlet and outlet ports. Conflat flanged Super-Seal valves have rotatable flanges for optimal connectivity to vacuum lines. This valve is rated for ultra-high-vacuum use (10-10 Torr) and can be used up to the 60-80 psig positive pressure range. These Super-Seal valves have a leak rate of 10-11 Torr l/s (He). All ultra-high vacuum rated Super-Seal valves use 304L stainless steel for the valve body and mechanism, OFHC copper gaskets for the bonnet seal, and Viton® poppet seal O-rings. These valves operate with low friction and zero abrasion of the polymer elastomer surface allowing for repeatable sealing action over many thousands of cycles. Super-Seal valves provide high-conductance to maximize the evacuated gas flow rate.
