Warehouse Inventory & Shipping Position

Overview:

We have a couple positions open in the shipping and receive departments for our warehouse. Persons applying for this position must have excellent computer skills and be able to quickly and efficiently learn new computer software. The candidate must be experienced at operating a forklift and warehouse equipment. On a typical day we receive 10 to 15 inbound motor freight skid shipments and must pick and prepare 8 to 10 outbound shipments. Each of these tasks are described below.

Inventory Receipts

This position will require constant use of a computer and the ability to quickly learn our inventory management software. We are looking for a person with warehouse inventory management skills, able to receive inventory into our system and relocate it to the warehouse pallet racking using pallet jacks and forklifts. One a typical day we receive 5 skids of inventory from our vendors. Each skid contains items from a purchase order that we have submitted to the vendor. This person must be able to quickly learn our software, identify our purchase order on the packing slip, count that all items are present on the skid, and receive those items against the purchase order. After which our product inventory labels are printed and attached to each product. The items then must be relocated to their correct storage location inside our warehouse.

Picking Orders

On any given day we sell 8 to 12 motor freight items. The sales department will submit those sales orders and pick tickets to our warehouse. This position will require printing those pick tickets, navigating to the warehouse storage location for the items, picking those skids of items from the warehouse pallet racking, and relocating them to our shipping center.

Packing Motor Freight Shipments

Many of our sales orders include motor freight items that must be picked from the warehouse. Those orders must be reconciled by checking that all line items are present. Those items must be packaged, wrapped, and protected to prepare them for outbound motor freight shipping. After the items are packaged the boxes are banded to skids and shipping paperwork is attached.

Motor Freight Shipping Documents

Most of our out bound shipments go through FedEx Freight. Our internal sales system is integrated with FedEx Freight software on our shipping work stations. The shipping paper work must be completed after the items for each sales order have been prepared for motor freight shipment. A candidate applying for this position must be able to quickly learn our computer systems and how to generate FedEx Bill of Laden (BOL) documents for each of our shipments.

Support Our Remanufacturing Department

We also operate a vacuum pump remanufacturing center at our location. These remanufactured pumps must be spray washed and painted in our commercial spray paint booth. After the paint has dried those pumps are relocated to our packaging department. The remanufactured pumps must have testing oil drained, undergo a safety inspection, have safety tags & warning labels added, and be boxed for storage in our warehouse. Each of these boxed products must be received correctly into our inventory system so that we know that they are available for sale. After being received they must be palletized on a skid, stretch wrapped, and relocated to their storage location in the pallet racking.

Technical Product Integration

Our technical scientists and application support engineers assist our graphics & product marketing department by preparing technical manuscripts for these product web page listings. This positions will require excellent English writing skills, the ability to read and comprehend technical vacuum products manuals, datasheets, and catalogs. To prepare a selected technical product manuscript we often have to read, study, and review published literature about those selected types of products and then condense that information into a concise and well-advertised product listing.
