The Leybold WSU 251 WSU-251 PFPE chemical series Roots blower vacuum pumps are driven by air cooled motors. They have no shaft feedthrough to the atmosphere, thus the Leybold WSU 251 WSU-251 is particularly leak-tight. In the canned motor, rotor and stator pack are separated by a vacuum-tight can made of a nonmagnetic material. The rotor operates on the drive shaft of the pump in the vacuum, so that a shaft seal which would be subject to wear is not required. The WSU pumps are easy to operate! They include a pressure differential valve that allows them to be started at the same time as the roughing pump. In the event of an excessively high pressure difference between the flanges, the valve will open. Then a part of the pumped gas will flow through this line back to the intake flange. Therefore the pump may be switched on together with the backing pump at atmospheric pressure. This increases the pumping speed of the pump combination also at high intake pressures. These Leybold WSU 251 WSU-251 are chemical series pumps being prepare from the factory with PFPE chemical resistant LVO-400 oil.
