Description

Glass Insert Liner with Copper Mesh Jacket, for 4 liter Vapor Trap, IVP XtremeFreez XFT-4, VT490A, 4 Liter, 1/2 inch Inlet/Outlet

This is a glass insert vessel with copper mesh heat transfer jacket for the Ideal Vacuum XFT-4 and FTS VT490A refrigerated vapor traps. The removeable cap of the insert has a titanium down tube with a 1/2" OD straight tube (inlet port). The outlet port is integral to the glass insert and is also a straight 1/2 inch OD.

This option is desirable for users who need to trap corrosion causing vapors.

Once the glass insert and copper mesh jacket are inserted into the trap, heat transfer fluid is used to fill the space between the glass and trap wall. Any fluid can be used, as long as its freezing point is lower than -90°C (-130°F). Ethanol or methanol is often chosen since it is inexpensive and easily obtained. Take proper precautions if using a flammable liquid as the heat transfer fluid.
