The plate is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and powder coated blue. It has an internal optical breadboard for mounting test items or fixtures. Blank plates are the least expensive Cube plates and are used for the bottom of Cubes or any other Cube sides where ports are not needed. Ideal Vacuum Cube Viewing Window Plate Assembly for 6x6 Vacuum Chamber 3/8" Tempered Glass. This Ideal Vacuum Cube 6x6 inch vacuum chamber standard, low-iron, tempered glass viewing window plate assembly is designed to fit our 6x6x6 or 6x6x12 modular Cube chambers. The standard tempered glass window viewing plate assembly is a popular Cube option, commonly used for general, direct observation of roughing or high-vacuum chamber processes and can be used to facilitate optical alignments of chamber components, observe degassing of fluids, or used to help teach in-vacuo processes by direct observation. The glass material is 3/8" thick, tempered, low-iron, high-clarity glass. Surface quality and flatness is Q4 per ASTM 1036-06 and 1048-04. The low iron content of the glass results in it having a slight blueish tint. This economical glass is unsuitable for high power laser experiments. We also offer high purity fused silica windows which are ground and polished to optical grade on both sides with a total thickness variation (TTV) of <10µm, a surface finish of S/D 40/20, and a surface roughness of Ra < 1 nm. These windows have appreciably improved transmittance, and a wider useful wavelength range than standard glass. Characteristics include extraordinarily low refractive index variations, low birefringence values, and an ultra-low thermal expansion coefficient. Fused silica is used for transmissive optics where a high laser damage threshold is required. Fused silica is used for optics operating in the deep UV, visible, and the near infrared wavelength range. Our Cube viewing windows employ an innovative, zero metal-to-glass contact design that holds the 3/8” thick window pane to an aluminum mounting plate. This cushioned window mounting system ensures operator safety and is less prone to leakage than other viewport window configurations, even at high vacuum pressures. Ideal Vacuum Cube windows are delivered fully assembled and use Viton O-rings and Teflon spacers. Bakeout temperatures to 150 °C are permissible. The viewing window plate assembly is interchangeable with other Cube plates and can be added to an Ideal Vacuum Cube system anytime. The viewing window can be implemented as a fixed side, or a door (with our optional hinge assembly and hardware kit, P106868) on the Cube chamber. The viewing window plate assembly, like all our other Cube plates, is built with our patented Taper-Seal technology which incorporates sloped sealing features to help prevent damage to the vacuum sealing surfaces. All Ideal Vacuum Cube plates are CNC milled from a single block of lightweight 6061-T6 Aluminum Alloy. Before it ships, every viewing window plate assembly is visually inspected for window media imperfections, helium leak tested, cleaned and sealed, ensuring that it operates correctly, safely, and is ready for immediate installation upon delivery. Ideal Vacuum Cube Viewing Window Plate Assembly for 6x6 Vacuum Chamber 3/8" Fused Quartz. This Ideal Vacuum Cube 6x6 inch vacuum chamber fused quartz viewing window plate assembly is designed to fit our 6x6x6 or 6x6x12 modular Cube chambers. The fused quartz window viewing plate assembly is often selected for experiments where improved optical clarity, extended wavelength transmissivity is required beyond the visible range, and where cost is a factor. Our fused quartz windows are manufactured with the highest quality natural quartz resulting in the highest levels of purity and lowest inclusion and bubble levels. Comparable to Heraeus TSC-3, these windows have improved transmittance, and a wider useful wavelength range than standard glass. Characteristics include low refractive index variations and low thermal expansion coefficient. Fused quartz is used for semiconductor applications such as plasma etch and deposition systems and recommended when low alkali and low aluminum content are specified. It is often used for transmissive optics in the visible and near-to-mid infrared wavelengths where a high laser damage threshold is required. Fused quartz has absorbtion bands in the 2600 to 2900 nm region, similar to fused silica but not as strong. It is unsuitable for UV work due to absorbtion in the 270 nm region. Note that fused quartz stock is limited as Ideal Vacuum is transitioning to fused silica as its premium window offering. Also note that fused quartz windows may be erroneously labeled with fused silica part numbers. You may verify your window material by checking your sales invoice. We also offer Cube window plate assemblies and replacement window panes with standard low-iron tempered glass or fused silica. This is an Ideal Vacuum Cube 6 x 6 inch TVAC plate for cryogenic testing and for trapping condensable gas vapors under high vacuum such as water and solvents that outgas from components inside the vacuum. Without appropriate trapping, condensable vapors can intrude into the mechanical pump, limiting the ultimate base pressure of the pump to unacceptably high levels. This TVAC plate produces lower base pressures and faster pump down cycles. This plate may be operated at temperatures as low as -200°C (-328°F) The plate is mounted to the top of the Cube with the LN2 fill port oriented vertically. Once under vacuum, liquid nitrogen is poured into the fill port and enters the plate’s 0.14 liter internal fluid reservoir. The reservoir is made of 304L stainless steel and has an optical breadboard on the vacuum side with a 3.0" x 3.0" temperature-controlled area. It is designed to occupy minimal volume within the Cube. Ideal Vacuum Cube 6 x 6 TVAC Thermal Vacuum Chamber Heater Plate for up to 140 Degrees C. This Ideal Vacuum Cube 6 x 6 inch heater plate will safely provide up to 140°C of uniformly distributed heat to the vacuum side of the plate surface, through a 120VAC 160W heating element. This thermal vacuum plate expands the capabilities of the Ideal Vacuum Cube whereby the Cube can be used as a Thermal Vacuum Chamber (TVAC). Applications include thermal stability testing, surface coating and implantation, and damage testing under thermal load. Thermal Vacuum Chambers are often used to replicate or simulate the extreme conditions of outer space and are frequently employed in the testing of spacecraft and aerospace parts or components under a simulated space environment, and control outgassing for a giving process. Please note that the maximum allowable temperature using Viton O-rings is 150°C. This heater plate has an integrated Type-K thermocouple, and works directly with our single zone PID Plug & Play Heater Control System, which is designed to accurately measure and control the temperature of our Cube heater plates. When a single Cube heater plate is used, and once the system has reached thermal equilibrium, the rest of the chamber will be approximately 10°C less than the heated plate itself. Multiple heater plates may be used (up to the heater control system’s maximum power load) to help eliminate this temperature differential. These Vacuum Cube heater plates are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and powder coated red. The vacuum chamber side (back) of these heater plates have an optical breadboard for fixtures and test components. These 6x6 Vacuum Cube Stage Plates allow dynamic fine location adjustment of your test piece within an evacuated Vacuum Cube. These plates permit 0.50” (13mm) of X and Y axis to travel over hardened steel linear bearings for precision motion and long life. The stage plate itself is spring tensioned in both axes, eliminating backlash when reversing travel direction. This sale does NOT include micrometer heads or motors allowing you total flexibility choosing your custom positioning solution. On the vacuum side, the plate and moving blocks are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with vented Stainless Steel 304 or 316 fasteners, eliminating virtual leaks. Air-side metal surfaces are powder coated blue. Although the self-tensioning system allows this plate to be mounted in any orientation, the optimum loading direction is with the mic supporting the load due to gravity. Ideal Vacuum Cube 6 x 6 in. Gate Valve Adapter Plate Kit ISO-F 63. This is an ISO-F 63 gate valve adapter plate kit for the 6 x 6 Ideal Vacuum Cube. This adapter allows the compact connection of an ISO-F 63 gate valve (with tapped mounting holes) to an Ideal Vacuum Cube™, without additional plumbing or fittings. The adapter consists of two plates. One plate has our patented Taper-Seal™ O-ring seal and is mounted to the Cube frame. The other plate is mounted to the gate valve’s threaded flange. An ISO 63 centering ring with O-ring is sandwiched between the two plates which are then screwed together to make the seal. This adapter kit can be used to isolate a turbomolecular pump from the chamber. It creates the shortest possible pumping path for maximum high vacuum performance. Another use for the gate valve adapter kit is to join two Cubes together in load lock applications. Two adapter kits are required, one on each side of the gate valve. When two cubes are joined with a gate valve between them, one Cube can be used as an antechamber to transfer materials from ambient atmosphere into the other which remains under vacuum. Similarly, when two Cubes of differing sizes are joined with a gate valve between them, the system can be used for explosive decompression testing. Here, the larger Cube decompresses the smaller Cube. It is best to use a pneumatic gate valve since it opens more rapidly than a manually operated one.
